That picture I posted the other day? I made a wallpaper out of it. Just click on the thumbnail for the 800x600 version if you're interested.

I find it hard to believe that there are people who don't like peanut butter and banana sandwiches. They're the lucky ones though, because they won't miss that delicious concoction when bananas go extinct.

Look! I'm writing! Now you have something to read! Isn't that nice of me? Okay, I got nothin'. My next set of shifts are graveyards, so I have to stay up all night and frankly, I'm finally starting to tire of Morrowind. I've started watching movies again and even some television. Heck, I may even pick up a book soon! Just don't ask me to exert myself physically...

Believe it or not, I was planning on going to bed at a more reasonable hour tonight, but being the nasty procrastinator that I am, it'll have to wait. I've been given the task of revamping the website for work (sorry, no links because, well, anyone reading this would know my real first name and where I work, and that's too much identifying information to make me comfortable on the Internet) and my boss would like it done for tomorrow. No biggie, because it's just a matter of a little repetitive stuff on one page, and changing some links on all the pages, which is also easy and repetitive. It also doesn't help that I fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie. Or that I came here to write this stuff down when I should be working on the website...

I bought some groceries today. I really should clean the fish bowl out. Maybe I'll watch a DVD tonight. This is why I don't write too much about my day to day life. That is my day to day life. I'm sure that when my time does come, it'll be boredom I die from. What I need is a car and enough money that I can go to more theater, or I'd love to get season tickets to Alberta Ballet. Today I was thinking it would be kind of nice to join a bowling league, but I do shift work so that's out of the question. I think this is part of the reason I'm addicted to Morrowind. It may be virtual, but it's doing something.
Have I mentioned I want to go white water rafting as my next adventure?

So I'm thinking I should cut back on my use of the word "so" because, well, I've been starting way too many entries off lately with it. Unless... I can make it my schtick! My "thing"! My "quirk"! My trademark! Or not. Yeah, I do believe I'll go with that last choice because frankly it would be way too freakin' annoying. Not that there's anything wrong with being annoying, Rush Limbaugh has made a good living at it, but it's just not for me. Anyway, to make up for all of that here is a picture I took the other day that came out way better than I expected, and am in fact quite proud of...

So I took the one shift for nothing, other than good will. At least the deal was sweetened by now getting a Tuesday off instead of a Friday. Eh. They overscheduled for the Tuesday, you see, and now because I took the Friday and have six days, I had to take a day off. I'm not being sarcastic about the good will though. It's always good to have in any job, and I honestly don't mind helping out sometimes. I won't lie and say I'm not a little pissed about not getting the extra day, and I really hate taking the bus on Friday (and Saturday) nights, but it's good work related karma.

So I'm being nice at work now and picking up extra hours and shifts when people ask. Purely out of the kindness of my heart. Uh huh. Yup. Okay, so I need the money. That does of course mean that today I'm just beat, and will be going to bed way early. In fact, I can hear the pillow calling my name. "Taaaaabbyyyyyy... TAAABBYYYYY..." Well, not exactly that, because "Tabby" isn't my real name, and it's a pillow, so it can't really talk anyway. Did I mention that I need to get some sleep?

Why I'd never get a dog...
They're loud and annoying with all the barking.
Their feces needs to be picked up.
They stare at you while you're eating, regardless of just being fed themselves.
Speaking of food, you can't leave any unattended.
They're destructive.
It takes up too much time searching for them after they make a bolt for freedom.
They smell.
They slobber.
They potentially bite.
Unless you have a secure yard to let them out in, you have to go out to attach them to their leash/chain/whatever, potentially missing a step in the dark and hurting your ankle.

So I went to let the dogs in last night, which isn't a biggie. The thing is, smaller one needs to be on a leash or else he can get out of the yard. Again, not a biggie depending on weather. However when you go out the side door at night, the light is burned out so you have to watch your step, something I didn't do carefully enough. I'm still a little sore and limping today, but I guess it could have been worse. I can even walk somewhat normally if I keep my foot twisted a little pigeon-toed. Now I have a whole new reason in my ever increasing list explaining why I'd never get a dog.

Eek! Twice last week I was late for work because my alarm clock didn't go off. Twice I woke up to look at the time, only to have it slowly seep in that I was supposed to be at work NOW, and then of course the panic sets in. My clock has been known to do this before, but it's been a long time since it last happened, and never twice in a row. Well, let me tell you, I am not Fate's bitch. I have a travel alarm clock that is now set up as back up, and if that wasn't redundant enough, the television in my room can be programmed to turn on at a specific time. I'm ready now. It's not going to happen again.

I'm sorry I haven't been writing much, but between work and trying to keep sane about the war, I just haven't been into it. Since this mess started in Iraq, I've seen graphic pictures of dead children, and just today I saw some photos of babies born with extreme birth defects that make the other ones seem tame. Those defects were caused by depleted uranium from weapons in the last Gulf War. Every day I get just a little more disgusted with the human race.
Maybe it's time to let the United States take over the world. Then when that's done, we can replace Bush with someone decent.

It's April and I missed writing an April Fool's Day joke post thingy? Damn. Oh well. I had a doozy in mind too! You would have bought it, hook, line, and sinker if only I had remembered. I'll just have to keep it for next year, because oooooh, was it a good one!
