If things go according to plan, I should be moving or have moved into my own apartment a month from now. I had a really nice tax refund, so money is not an issue for once in my life. In fact, it's helping me buy even more stuff, like my brand new 27" television. I was considering a 32", but I would like to have some left over to keep in the bank. It's been so nice having it there, not worrying if I'm going to make it to the bank to cash my paycheque or being impatient for payday to arrive. I'd like to keep that feeling going so I will make sure I have some left over.

After ten days, I guess I should write more than that. The new Conservative Party of Canada, one that was formed by a merging of the old Progressive Conservative Party and Canadian Alliance (formerly Reform Party of Canada, which came about after some people split away from the Progressive Conservatives then weren't getting enough votes to form the government, so they hope by merging under a somewhat whole new name they will get those votes (I know, I don't understand conservatives either)) have a new leader. The leader is the man who led the former Canadian Alliance before the merger.
Yeah, that's going to convince people that this isn't just the Reform Party with a pretty new name. Not that it matters to me. I'd rather vote for a corrupt center-to-left party than an honest right-wing party any day, and I've yet to see an honest right-wing party anyway.

I made a horrible mistaking putting one of my pieces of furniture together. It was a stupid one, though someone easy to make, but is going to be a huge pain in the ass trying to fix. Urgh.

Oh look! I'm writing! Shocking, isn't it? If you've been checking back for anything new, I really appreciate it. It's just hard to write constantly, even if it's short and insignificant. Sometimes one just has nothing to say. If there is anyone who keeps a journal and can write in it 365 days a year, I greatly admire them. It's just not something I can do. It's even harder when there isn't much that happens in your life and you have to really stretch to try to make everything even vaguely interesting.
There is one advantage to doing this online though. I've tried starting diaries several times in the past, and I've never managed to keep them going. When you're writingfor an audience, even a small one, there is more of an incentive to keep writing. That's why it bothers me when I go through dry spells like this recent one.
On the personal news front, I'm getting very close to moving into my own apartment again. I'm waiting for my tax refund (I filed early this year, can you believe that?) then hoping a place opens up in this building a block from work in the next couple of months. If not, then I'll have to go looking, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. It's a nice neighbourhood, close to the LRT (public transportation light train),
and maybe a 2-3 minute walk from work. How can I not want this place? I just need to make sure it's not so tiny that I'd be tripping over myself. Someone from work just moved into one of the apartments there, so I'm going to ask her if I can take a look. If I like it, I'll wait patiently for one to open up. If not, I'll just look for something else.
And whoo hoo! I bought some furniture today! I love doing that...

This is getting bad, I know, I know. It gets like this though, where I have these periods where I just can't write. All I can do is ask for your patience.
Hey! I went to the circus tonight! It wasn't bad, there being some acts that I really enjoyed. I took one of my roommate's kids, but I don't know if I'll do so again. She's 9 now, and felt that some of the animals weren't treated as well as she would have liked. That came from a horse act, where the woman who was making them do the tricks was also wearing a microphone to sing and talk with the audience, so we were able to hear her give commands to the horses, something my wee friend didn't like.
Now if Cirque du Soleil were to come to town...
