Okay, I've calmed down. The lesson I've learned is that unless I want to live in an absolute dive, I will be giving my gross income from now on, not my net. Silly me for not being a doctor.
At least I'm in a situation where I can take another month if I need to, and it's starting to look like I may be able to take even more time. Financially, that would be the smarter thing to do, take as much time as I can because my monthly expenses will increase once I move, but I just really want my own space again so I will keep looking.

What a bunch of fucking bullshit. I just got turned down for an apartment because I don't make three times the rent after taxes. What sort of crap is that? This means that I have to put up with the fucking dogs for another month, look further away from work than I would like and will have to stay with fucking public transportation, which will eat away from my money and will cost me more on a monthly basis now than it would have if I got that place. Fuck! What sort of crap is that?
I make an okay living, but I guess they want either a couple or someone who makes quite a bit fucking more. Good luck to them on that. If I can't get into there, what are people who make less than me, and there are a lot of them, supposed to do for housing? This makes me fucking sick.

I was in a parking lot yesterday when I saw a mouse, which took me aback. I'm not scared of them, but I didn't see it until I was almost upon it. The mouse looked like it was sleeping though of course it wasn't, because mice don't sleep in parking lots during the day. I felt bad for this dead mouse that just looked like it was sleeping in the middle of a parking lot. At least some scavenger will get a decent meal.
Later on in the parking lot, a man approached me. He was lugging a case and wearing a city-issued ID tag, which I guess they have now if you sell stuff door-to-door. He said he only had two of these little FM radios left to sell, would I be interested? Normally they cost more, but he would let me have them both for only $5. Interrupting his sales pitch, I told him I don't need them, but I know how hard his job is so I'll take them. What the heck, I'll give them to the kids.
Getting home, only one of the children was home. We set up one of the radios, but it didn't work. The second one did, so I gave it to her. When the other came home, she wanted a radio, but I let her know one of the big reasons she didn't get one is that she has a CD player, her sister doesn't. I did feel bad about it. What's the world coming to when you can't trust a $2.50 radio you buy in a parking lot to work?
Maybe I should just avoid parking lots if they're just going to end up making me feel bad.

Oh, the wrestling was fun with a couple of exceptions. One, there is a character Eugene who is supposed to be funny, in the way people with misdeveloped senses of humour find the mentally challenged funny. I find the whole concept to be highly offensive and one of the lowest points in taste the WWE has ever reached. To make matters worse, he came out during the Hurricane's match, and the Hurricane is my favourite wrestler. So here I was happy to see him live, then they had to go and ruin it.
Then during the second last match, I went to grab my scarf because I was going to go buy something between matches, and I couldn't find it. I was looking frantically, which meant I missed way too much of the performance. I got back, still couldn't find it, so was distracted during the whole main event thinking it was stolen. Turns out it fell behind the seat in front of me, and being black I couldn't find it until the lights came on and the seat was vacated. Urgh.
Some of the people at work found it a little strange that I went to see an... ugh... wrestling show. Hey, for the most part I enjoy it. The WWE can be a little too sexist at times for my liking, and the jingoism and anti-French attitude of recent months have churned my stomach, but I try to get past that and appreciate the performers and performances I do like. Besides which, there are sexy men in tights jumping around. How can anyone not like that?
...
On the home front, it looks like I won't be moving as close to work as I would like. The one place down the block is too small, and anything else is just way too expensive. Oh well, I think I know where I'll be moving now, and it's still walkable during nice weather, and I could use the exercise. Not only that, it's close to shopping, particularly groceries, and that's always a good thing.
Pfeh. Screw the environment, I need a car again...

It's been a long, long day. I left for work at 7am and didn't get home until around 10:30pm. A full day of work, then right to Rexall Place for WWE Backlash. Yup, I'm pooped. So why am I writing here when I should be in bed? I have to be up in about 5 hours!

Damn these straight day shifts. I can't seem to watch a movie past 10pm anymore without falling asleep. That is truly awful. I'm okay sitting here at the computer most of the time, but that's because it's slightly more active than viewing a DVD, though not by much. Just enough to stay awake, it seems.
This has me worried about the shows I've paid good money to see in the upcoming months. I know years ago I had a graveyard shift job, and when I went to the ballet I had to fight to stay awake (I know what you're thinking, but I loved it and want to go again) and that pissed me off. It's likely these early shifts I'm working now, but I wouldn't be suprised if my advancing years have something to do with it as well.

It snowed today. Yes, it's the middle of April. April showers bring May flowers, April flurries bring May... furries? Ew (for me, but if you're into the whole furry thing, all the power to ya).
A little bit of computer news: I finally bought myself a printer today. I've been needing one for years, and now I have the money for those little indulgences. For now anyway. It does an excellent job printing photos, which will be one of its primary uses.

There are people checking here, so I'd better write. Yikes.
The apartment hunting is picking up, but if I don't get anything by the end of this month, I still have another month to look so I can afford to be picky right now.
I've bought tickets for three events this year so far. In a week I'll be going to see WWE Backlash. So it's wrestling. I enjoy it (for the most part, despite some things they do that offend me). In June I'll be going to A Night Of Improv with most of the stars of Whose Line is it Anyway? Wayne Brady won't be there, who would have been nice to see, and Drew Carey won't be there, who is a decent host and a good stand-up, but frankly sucks at improv and he knows it. The rest of them will be though, so it should be a great show. And finally in September I'm going to see Sarah McLachlan in concert, my first real music concert that isn't Lilith Fair in way too long a time. You don't want to know how long.
Throw in with those all the plays I should see this year at the Fringe Festival and it's going to make for a nice 2004.
