I'm finding it hard to keep doing the Realivision blog. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so friggin' time consuming, even with the changes I implemented. There is so much more I want to do, stuff that I have no time for if I keep up to date with the blog.
At the same time, I don't want to give it up yet. It's been the most successful venture I've done online, passing 10,000 unique viewers in just a few short months. In four and a half years, this one hasn't even come close to that. I also enjoy making people laugh, and that does give me an outlet for that. But if I keep putting off writing updates, how can I expect people to keep checking back?

Ahoy, mateys! Today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day! The scurvy bilge rats at that site didn't know what they were starting, but you just want and see this grow into the biggest holiday of the year, arrrrr!
Now I'd like to send out a special ahoy to "Prime Minister" Stephen Harper. I hope you used today to spend more time talking like a pirate and less time talking like a George W. Bush. I am pretty close to pitying you though, as you are caught between two lovers. On the one hand, you really, desperately want to form a majority government. On the other hand, you don't want to disappoint your Washington hero. Yet the more you cosy up to Bush, the more the Canadian public are unhappy with you. That's quite the dilemma you're in, n'est ce pas?

Oh, hello, this blog! It's been a while, hasn't it? I haven't forgotten about you. It's just that the other blog, Realivision, has taken up most of my writing energy. Between that and the boards I frequent, well, you know...
That doesn't mean I don't love you anymore! Far from! We've been together for closing in on five years now! Nothing will ever take your place. Besides, it's not like I have much to talk about. "Today I finally updated Realivision and wrote about Celebrity Duets!" Is that what you really want to hear?
I do have something just for you though. Yesterday I went and participated in a women's improv jam. It's been a year almost since I last did any improv, and this was a lot of fun. Even though I haven't done a lot of it, I did notice the different energy when there are no men. For one thing, it was a lot cleaner. Not that I have anything against sex jokes, and have never had a problem with going there for laughs, but there was never a need for it yesterday.
It was also nice to be stretching some different comedy muscles. I also loved the support, the working together to make haha. At Realivision, on the boards, even here the jokes all live or die based on my own input. That is a thrill in itself, but sometimes it's nice to share the load, to work with other people. Even if it does build into a wildly surreal bit about monkeys dancing on the heads of clowns that just doesn't go anywhere.
The plan is to do this again next month, maybe even every month, and I'll be there. Even if I didn't love it, it's a nice change from writing about Dancing With the Stars, which I really need to do when I get home today.
So this has been nice, this blog. I'm sorry I've been neglecting you. We really should try to stay in touch more often.
