I move in two days and I'm getting the worst possible shifts leading up to it. There was the one day weekend last week, today I'm working noon to 8pm, then back again at 8am tomorrow so I have to go to bed fairly early tonight. Not only that, the kids will be in bed so I'll have to be fairly quiet. I tried asking if I could leave early as I'm more of an extra hand today, but no. On top of all that I need to go to the bank. That won't be happening now until Thursday morning, and I'll have to hurry so I'm home for the movers.
Epcor (for my power needs) was fairly easy today, and I will have electricity come moving day. Telus on the other hand is pissing me off.
On my one day off, I couldn't get the phone hooked up. I believe I described that experience here already. They told me to call today, so I did. The representative told me she couldn't get ahold of their credit department, so she e-mailed them and said she'd call me back. I gave her my work number, because this is where I'd be. As I write this, it's almost 7:20pm. They are not going to be calling me today. I really would like to get phone service by the time I move in. Sure, our ancestors went millenia without the damned things, but this is 21st Century Canada. You need a telephone. Maybe I'll get cable Internet and get my phone line through a company that'll hook you up through that. I saw them advertise, and if Telus doesn't get its act together I will do just that.
