The things one learns when they don't visit their own website. I took a look to see if my recent posts had been going through properly and check for any comments (damn it, comment people!) and the old ad banner was gone and that spiffy new search bar you see up there was put in its place. All fine and dandy, except that it really screwed up the formatting and cut off part of the title and most of the head on the Atomic Robot Jungle Vixen picture. That left me trying to figure out how to fix it, and I was getting very frustrated until I noticed I wasn't refreshing my screen after changing the code. D'oh.
I've never mentioned the picture up top before. It's a composite of three different pictures to get the effect I wanted, pictures from three different decades. Probably the most famous of the three is the robot part, I took that from the silent movie classic Metropolis. The rest of it is from two different Sheena Queen of the Jungles. One from the late Fifties or early Sixties I believe, and she makes up most of the picture, and the lower part of her face is from the Sheena of the earlier part of this decade. I really should use the names of the actress, except they are escaping me right now. The earlier Sheena was played by Irish was her first name, I can't remember her last. McKenna I'm thinking, but I'll check on that later. Oh! The newer was was played by Gena Lee Nolin!
I wanted the picture to be an homage to the Jungle Queens of the screen, and I like to think it works. It's a touch I like, a little something in addition to the whole homage to Fifties B-movies that the rest of this page is.
